Poppy
arrived at Wolf Watch UK in November 2010, she was 4 years old and
like Pepe, had been part of the West Midlands Safari Park pack. This
spelt double good news for us because not only was she a potential
companion for Pepe who had been alone for over a year but we learnt
that at one time her and Pepe had been 'good mates' so maybe this
increased the chances of them getting on together. The circumstances
of her transfer to WWUK was as a result of a dominance fight after
which the parks manager Bob Lawrence felt it in the best interest of
the animal to find a new home rather than risk further injury.

Poppy
is approximately 80 pounds, light grey all over but darker grey
along her back. She has a slightly protruding lower lip and is
nervous around strangers.
Poppy
and Pepe now share an enclosure although interaction is not
frequent. Generally though she has settled well. We think perhaps a
type of companionship prevails which is better understood by wolves
than mankind.

To
adopt Poppy or any of our wolves then click on the 'Join
Wolf Watch UK'
link here or at the top of the page.
In
the 'Wolf Videos' section on this web site you will find unique
video footage of our wolves at the Wolf Centre. You can reach this by
clicking on the link above, but you will need QuickTime player to
view this and any of the other video footage on this web site. There
is a link in the Wolf Videos page to obtain QuickTime player if you
do not have it already.
