Eyes Of A Wolf (Inspired by Madadh)

Just as amber traps an insect,

From some primeval, distant past;

So too the amber pools before me

Reveal the wisdom deep within.

A fierce intelligence is lurking;

Buried 'neath the steely gaze.

Through these windows, t'is clear to see

What lies inside that agile mind.

Gazing into guileless mirrors,

A hidden past is waxing still.

An ancient time of hidden mysteries,

When wolves were revered, not despised.

For in those days of primordial magic,

When Wolf and Goddess walked as one;

People worshipped these noble creatures.

Alas, it seems those days are gone.

Yet as her beautiful eyes meet mine,

I feel the pull of ancient days.

And in the amber eyes of a wolf

The sacred moment fills me with joy.... ”

“... Hi, this is a poem that is inspired by your wolf, Luna.

Under The Birch, Where The Moon Wolf Cries

All is quiet, all is still,

An oak's leaves whisper of the coming night,

The trees, they wait for the moon to rise,

To hear the white wolf's lonely cries.

A glint of silver, in the trees,

The wolf has come to the wood tonight,

She halts by a tree and howls are heard,

Under the birch, where the moon wolf cries.

Thanks for a fantastic visit, Anna-Lujz.... ”

Some excellent poems sent in by one of our most enthusiastic, young members, Becky Denby from Lancashire:

Kgosi

Kgosi is black and magnificent,

Gorgeous Kgosi is lovely and pleasant,

Overall Kgosi is my favourite wolf,

Some how I fit in with him as cosy as a glove,

Ill treated, NEVER! is Kgosi of mine,

People love him, and so do I!!!

A Wolves' Howl

A wolf's howl is magnificent,

Wolve's howls are beautiful,

Oh how they make me shiver and gasp,

Lightning will not sound as good,

Voices carried on the wind,

Everything stops and listens to it,

Some people find it eerie,

Howls are amazing, the best sound in the world,

Ordinary sounds don't touch the soul like howls,

Wrecking the wolf breed will destroy the fabulous sound,

Lovely howls we can't live without you!!!

Wolf cubs

Here I am, sitting cosy in my den,

With my fellow brother and sisters, Anita, Joanne, and Ben,

Ahhh this is the life, but someday I'll grow up,

And then have my own little timber wolf pups,

But I'll enjoy it while I can,

Having my food brought to me by my mam,

My fur has just grown, and I can see,

I am very proud and I am free!!!

Favourite Things In Life

I have lots of things like,

A guitar, skate-board, and a bike,

But nothing compares to my wolf possessions,

To me they're very,very precious,

I have over 200 wolves in my room,

I love them so much, I'm gonna burst soon!,

They call to me, and I can hear them,

I dream about them again and again,

No-one at school likes them except me,

Some day, some how they'll see, they'll see!!!

I hope you like my wolf poems! Lots of love, Becky Denby
