Loopy
lypophile, those of you who are familiar with the back issues of
Wolf Watch magazine will recognise Loopy from his regular column.
Well, hes back but on the web site so expect anything from this page.

...
I was absolutely devastated to hear about Luna, she was the first
wolf I adopted, and the others followed, well, when the time comes, I
will continue the adoption with your latest arrival. For my birthday
in April, Terry bought me Microsoft Digital Image Suite Plus, and I
am learning (very slowly) how to make collages with it. I have made a
few featuring Luna using some of the official photos I have been sent
over the years, and would ask that you pass them on to Tony for me
for him to keep in her memory. But if he thinks they are good enough
to perhaps print off for your shop to raise a shilling or 10, then
please feel free to do so with my blessing.

...
a poem from Alison Hirst
Alison
writes about the amazing experience she had at the sanctuary and how
much it helped her in her dark days - happily she can report recent
tests confirmed she is in remission but she wanted to thank you very
very much for the experience and can't wait to visit again.
She
also wrote a poem for the first time ever...
Sentinels
(Inspired by a visit to the wolves)
Running,
running, wolves by my side,
Amber
eyes golden, aglow.
I'm
running and laughing, falling and sinking
deep
into gleaming white pillows of snow.
Winter
sun melting in crisp azure sky,
seeking
out tissue and bone.
To
seep, to trickle,
Oozing
life-giving warmth,
into
dark, lonely hearts cold as stone.
Fear
paces the sideline, relentlessly waiting,
to
ambush, to strike, to attack
The
unwary souls, unafraid to disclose,
who
fail to keep watch over clawed-back repose.
My
sentinels pause to rest by my side
-
resplendent, commanding, august;
beautiful,
piercingly luminous eyes
scanning
for shadows, all senses to trust.
So
I can be still now, secure in their charge,
to
live in the moment
just
be.
A
novel sensation but one to hold on to,
be
happy, be focused,
be
me.

I
just wanted to write and say thanks for an absolutely amazing
experience yesterday; it was just incredible. I never, ever thought
I'd get to be that close to these wonderful animals (well, certainly
not to live to tell the tale afterwards!!) and it was a real
privilege to be able to meet Luna, Nouska, Kgosi and Madadh; not to
mention yourselves, of course! (And Doodle). And getting to touch
Madadh and look into those beautiful, intelligent eyes was almost spiritual.
I
was telling Eva that I wrote poetry; after meeting Madadh, I felt
really inspired and i wrote this in the car on the way home. I wanted
to send it to you to show you just how much it meant to me to be able
to have such an experience; I've loved wolves since I was a child and
this really is the closest I'm ever going to get to them. Thank you
so much for a fantastic day; it really was a dream come true for me.
I hope you like the poem!
Once
again, I really enjoyed myself yesterday. Long may Wolf Watch and
the good work continue!
Kate
